Update on Anthony

Anthony had his bone marrow transplant today at 11:45. It took all of five minutes, with two teaspoons of marrow being transplanted. The doctors said that the first hour after the transplant was the most crucial, and they will be watching him very carefully for the next three days for any signs of rejection.

This e-mail was received after the hour had passed.
Good afternoon, I just spoke with Sergio. Anthony has come through the first hour like a champ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His blood pressure is down to normal and he has had no pain meds for two days. Sergio (his dad) asks everyone to please continue to pray for the next three weeks that the cells multiply. They are praising God for all His miracles!

A pastor asked a little boy if he said his prayers every night.
"Yes sir," the boy replied.
"And, do you always say them in the morning, too?" the pastor asked.
"No sir," the boy replied. "I ain't scared in the daytime."

This post, first part and second, speaks to Anne Lamott's belief that all prayers, ultimately, fall into one of two categories: "Thank you, thank you , thank you" or "Help me, help me, help me."

Either way, there's always a reason to say your prayers. :-)

and I'm thinking you are saying thank you that that beautiful child is coming to see you this weekend!

Oh that is wonderful that he has come this far. I will stop right after typing this and offer a prayer for healing.
