Looking down on these buildings, you can see that people have their patios on the top of the buildings. Many of the hotels have their pools on the top as well.
Greetings from Chicago. I spent last week in the Windy City, enjoying a couple of conferences and sightseeing a bit. Behind me in this photo is the Sears Tower. I'm standing outside the Shedd Aquarium.
I arrived on Monday and immediately went to the McCormick Place for the P*mpered Chef conference. When I went this year, I had it in my head that I would "retire" from the business. I have remained active for the last two years by doing minimum requirements. My general health has prevented me from really enjoying doing the cooking shows, but I have enough clients who buy from me that I haven't stopped selling. Of course, when I go to these meetings and see all the new products, it's hard to give it up. Besides, I enjoy so much the friends that I've made through the business.
Ella's aunt Sarah sent her this Pooh dress when I went up to visit, so Ella's mom dressed her in it for church on Sunday. After church we drove over to Staunton to the Five Guys diner for cheeseburgers and fries. Definitely not a low fat meal, but it really was good.

I almost laughed out loud last Sunday at church. When we stood to sing, this faithful fireman was standing in front of me. After church I couldn't resist asking him if I could take a photo of his back. I'm sure that Hardee County has nothing to fear.
Postscript: When I took this photo and posted this, the fire in Charleston had not taken place. My heart goes out to all those firefighters whose lives were lost in that furniture store fire. What a loss for that firehouse and all the families left without husbands, sons, fathers, wives, moms, and daughters.
Sarah called me tonight to see if I was o.k. She said she kept checking to see if I had posted anything new, and I hadn't. I told her I was lazy. I looked today to see when the last post was, and it was four days ago, so I guess it's time. One blogger I read one day said that she drew a blank on a post for that day.

I received this card from my good friend, Peg, the other day. I could not help but think of Yoga Mama, Babette, when I looked at this picture. But when I opened it and read the inside, I knew that it was not anything that she would write. The message inside? "I meditate, I do yoga, I chant, and I still want to smack someone!"
I jut got lots of new photos of Ella, so get ready. Does this look like a yoga position? She looks like she's really studying those feet, doesn't she.
If you go here, you will find an interesting story about the song "Jesus Loves Me."Jesus loves me! This I know
For the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong;
They are weak, but He is strong.
Refrain
Yes, Jesus loves me!Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!The Bible tells me so.
Jesus loves me! This I know,
As He loved so long ago,
Taking children on His knee,
Saying, “Let them come to Me.”
Jesus loves me still today,
Walking with me on my way,
Wanting as a friend to give
Light and love to all who live.
Jesus loves me! He who died
Heaven’s gate to open wide;
He will wash away my sin,
Let His little child come in.
Jesus loves me! He will stay
Close beside me all the way;
Thou hast bled and died for me,
I will henceforth live for Thee.
Jesus loves me! Loves me still,
Though I’m very weak and ill,
That I might from sin be free
Bled and died upon the tree.
